6-12 Month Male Purebred Tibetan Mastiff Highlights

  • Impressive Size & Strength: Tibetan Mastiffs are a large and powerful breed, known for their substantial build and imposing presence. They require ample space and consistent training to manage their strength.
  • Loyal & Protective Nature: These dogs are renowned for their loyalty to their families and their natural protective instincts. They can be wary of strangers, making early socialization crucial.
  • Independent & Intelligent: Tibetan Mastiffs possess a strong will and independent spirit, often described as intelligent but sometimes stubborn. Consistent, positive reinforcement training is key.
  • Thick Double Coat: They have a dense double coat that provides insulation in cold climates. Regular grooming is necessary to manage shedding and prevent matting, especially during seasonal changes.
  • Moderate Exercise Needs: While large, Tibetan Mastiffs typically have moderate exercise requirements. Daily walks and opportunities to play in a secure yard are usually sufficient.
  • Potential Health Concerns: As with many large breeds, Tibetan Mastiffs can be prone to certain health issues such as hip and elbow dysplasia, and eye conditions. Responsible breeding practices are important.
